Care basics
Use a mature freshwater aquarium with stable conditions, plants, and surfaces for grazing. Offer small amounts of appropriate shrimp food alongside the aquarium’s natural biofilm.
A sponge filter or protected filter intake helps keep young shrimp safe. Avoid copper-based medications and sudden changes in water conditions.
Tankmates & compatibility
A shrimp-focused aquarium offers the best protection for young shrimp. Fish may eat shrimplets, even when adult shrimp appear to coexist peacefully. Provide dense plant cover and avoid predatory tankmates.
Shipping & live arrival
Orders ship on Mondays to the lower 48 states and Washington, D.C. The weekly cutoff is Friday at 6 p.m. Eastern; later orders are scheduled for the following shipping week.
